Sucker Punch has set the bar very high for themselves with their past success making Sly Cooper and Infamous games. Throughout three generations of PlayStation consoles, the developer has been a mainstay for gamers on the platform. It seems like Ghost of Tsushima is up to the challenge of raising the bar higher than ever before, as Sucker Punch looks to cap off the PlayStation 4 with perhaps it's last AAA exclus

Following protagonist Jin Sakai, one of the only remaining samurai out for revenge following the Mongol invasion of his homeland, Ghost of Tsushima is a dramatic story loosely based on the real-world events of the Mongol invasion of Tsushima Island in 1274. In an attempt to thwart the oncoming invasion, Jin's comrades are overwhelmed and massacred, leaving Jin to haunt the Mongol invaders who took everything from

In the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine (via Twisted Voxel ), new information about Ghost of Tsushima has been shared. The most intriguing bit touches upon in-game world exploration. Sucker Punch has designed the Island of Tsushima so that players will need to navigate the environments without the help of waypoints. It’s not quite clear if there won't be any travel assistance in Ghost of Tsushima Walkthrough|https://tsushimagame.com/ of Tsushima at all, but the overall concept implies exploration will play a tangible part in beating the g

On top of that, some more details on Ghost of Tsushima have emerged. The story will unfold in conjunction with world exploration, expressed in game design decisions like the grappling hook, which will allow for scouting around enemy camps undetected. Players will also encounter multiple side characters on their way. These NPCs will potentially serve as allies, but their attitude towards the protagonist will be based on the decisions players make. Sucker Punch has also confirmed that iconic works by Akira Kurosawa served as the source of inspiration for the g

The highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima will release in the Summer of 2020. Fans around the world have been wondering when the big-budget samurai slasher would finally get a release date, with many speculating that the game would release in the second half of 2020 . But now developer Sucker Punch has confirmed the release window for Ghost of Tsushima will be Summer 2

All in all, we have seen very little about Ghost of Tsushima , which is why I think I have such a close eye on it this year. Compared to other major releases that are coming up in 2020 ( Cyberpunk 2077 , Final Fantasy VII Remake , DOOM Eternal ) I feel like there are many relatively unknown factors with Ghost of Tsushima . Heck, news on the game went so quiet in 2019 that many started questioning whether or not it would end up just altogether becoming a PS5 game . That obviously won't be the case, but it speaks to how silent Sony has been with this ti

The highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima has just become a lot more appealing to old school gamers thanks to the way players will explore the world, as there won’t be any certain waypoints to rely on. This will bring the game closely in line with the exploration of iconic titles like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind , which challenged its players in similar w

Along with a new trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 4 title Ghost of Tsushima , PlayStation has revealed the collector's edition version of the game, which fans will undoubtedly be dying to get their hands on. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the studio behind the PlayStation 2's Sly Cooper trilogy and the inFamous series, Ghost of Tsushima was originally revealed in October 2017 during Sony's Paris Games Week presentation and has been on fans' collective radar ever si

The final cherry on top of my pre-release anticipation for Ghost of Tsushima has also just been due to how serious Sucker Punch is taking the source material here. Developers at the studio have talked openly about how much research has gone into this project which has included multiple trips to Japan and working with actual swordmasters . Not to mention, the full game is going to feature optional Japanese voice acting with English subtitles to really entrench yourself in the experience even further. Aspects like this won't make or break Ghost of Tsushima , but it shows just that Sucker Punch is committed to making this not just an enjoyable game, but one that is highly-authentic as w

Speaking of that gameplay demo from 2018, I'm hard-pressed to actually believe that what we were shown was running on a PS4 Pro. Seriously, how is that even possible? The level of detail and the high-fidelity visuals that we were shown look like they should only be possible on a PC, or maybe an Xbox One X. If these kinds of graphics are possible on even the weakest “premium” platform around, then that's pretty incredible. Games like this are why I invested in a 4K TV and a PS4 Pro in the first place and I'm hoping Ghost of Tsushima's finalized iteration will look just as stunning as what we've been shown thus
